Merci Beaucoup To Buku
This past weekend, Rtown’s Friday Afternoon Club enjoyed the gorgeous weather from the spacious patio seating of Buku. We were so excited to be at BuKu, a brand new restaurant on the corner of Wilmington and Davie Street, where Fins used to be. Buku offers a world market style food with a posh dining feel, but definitely not a price tag to match. We got to experience so many of their great dishes from steak tataki, Korean pork BBQ, empanadas, and peiroigies. One of the most talked about dishes, their wings, was a mystery to everyone as what could possible be the components of such an amazing sauce.
The menu should be no surprise though. Chef William D’Auvray has lived and studied across the globe. He brought his most amazing dishes from Fins to the Buku menu, the truffle roasted chicken is my husband’s favorite, but please don’t tell his mom.
Their drink menu was just as great a discovery. The ladies were loving the homemade sangria which was as aromatic as it was delicious. They also have this wonderful concoction of Hendricks gin, lime, and a pepper chili that was more refreshing than a mojito.
